PRESS RELEASE
Harare, Zimbabwe | 6 May 2025 — Delta Corporation today hosted its bursary induction ceremony at the Mandel Training Centre under the theme, “Educating Today’s Learners, Powering Zimbabwe’s Future.” The event underscores Delta’s enduring commitment to developing Zimbabwe’s human capital by supporting high-potential learners from underprivileged backgrounds, from A-Level through to university.
Speaking at the ceremony, Delta Corporation’s General Manager – Corporate Affairs and Company Spokesperson, Patricia Murambinda, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to national development through education.
“Delta remains firmly committed to supporting Zimbabwe’s development agenda by investing in education and skills development. Through this bursary programme, we are removing financial barriers that limit potential and helping to build a capable, future-ready workforce. In line with our theme, ‘Educating Today’s Learners, Powering Zimbabwe’s Future,’ we believe that targeted support for deserving students is a practical and measurable contribution to sustainable communities and a stronger economy.”
Delta has supported students for more than two decades through its education assistance programme, which provides school bursaries amounting to nearly USD 100,000 annually. To date, over 1,300 students have benefited, representing a total investment of approximately USD 2.1 million. In 2026, the programme is supporting 100 students across A-Level and university education. Beneficiaries are selected in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to ensure equitable access for talented learners from disadvantaged communities across all provinces.
The bursary initiative forms part of Delta’s broader social investment and skills development strategy. This includes investments in educational infrastructure—such as the construction of classroom blocks in underserved communities—as well as structured training programmes through the Mandel Training Centre. Additional initiatives include the Delta Technical Institute (DTI), which equips artisans with critical technical skills, and the Driver Training School, which focuses on heavy motor vehicle training. Early-career professionals are further supported through Delta’s Graduate Development Programme.
Collectively, these initiatives have contributed to the development of skilled professionals across multiple disciplines, including medicine, engineering, and finance.
Delta Corporation encouraged bursary recipients to pursue excellence, maximize the opportunities afforded to them, and contribute meaningfully to their communities and Zimbabwe’s broader development goals.
